Rooted & Rising: Growth from the Greenhouse
About A Year Of Faith & Christmas Reflections
A quiet fire, a gray sky, and a heart full of gratitude, Denise opens up about a year that stretched faith and sparked a movement of stories. What began as a dream became a growing podcast rooted in Scripture and real-life testimony, designed to help women trade anxiety for a sound mind and cultivate courage for the road ahead. You’ll hear why a simple “book of remembrance” can be a lifeline: when you record what God has done, you build a library of evidence to revisit when storms hit and doubts rise.
We walk through the rhythms that have sustained Denise across decades of marriage, parenting, grandparenting, and ministry: honest reflection, Scripture meditation, and spoken praise. She shares how verses moved from the page into her heart and then out of her mouth, becoming a practiced response that dismantles fear and restores peace. Along the way, we celebrate the unexpected team that formed around the Greenhouse, the more than twenty-five conversations already live, and the bold goal to record one hundred stories from women who have seen God’s faithfulness up close.
Looking ahead, Denise offers a hopeful vision for 2026: courses to know God more deeply, workshops to build businesses on kingdom principles, and future adventures that awaken wonder. The throughline is simple and strong. God is for you, not against you; gratitude changes the atmosphere; and praise is freedom, not foolishness. If you need a nudge to start your own remembrance journal, to lift your hands without fear of judgment, or to believe that hope can mature into faith that does not disappoint, this conversation is your invitation.

Hi girls, it's Denise Jackson. I am so thankful for this year and your joining the podcast Rooted in Rising Growth from the Greenhouse. I that dream has been fulfilled with the podcast, and I pray that it's blessing you, that it is encouraging you to remember that God is on your side, that he is for you, he's never against you. I hope the word of God is really getting inside your spirit already as you've been listening. I hope it's drawing you to read more of his word, to seek him, because I know when you seek him, you are gonna find him. And teaching you to love the Lord your God with all your heart, because as you love the Lord your God with all your heart, all the other stuff really starts being lighter. He carries our burdens. So as we learn to love him and understand who he is, it changes everything. I am sitting here by the fire on kind of a dreary, cold, wimberly day, and I just wanted to share a few thoughts about the season of Christmas as uh we get closer to Christmas. I just enjoy so much the time I get to spend appreciating and loving on my family and my friends, and I also appreciate the time I get to spend alone because that's when I reflect. And I encourage you to do a little bit of reflection in this new year, in this new season, as we approach Christmas and then start our new year. Um, I like to just think about what has happened in this year, the hard things and the great things, and in all of it, just realizing that God was my ever-present help. He was always there lifting me, providing for me, watching over me. He was always right in the midst of everything that was going on, and then I like to write because often throughout the Old Testament, especially, God would tell his people, write a book of remembrance, or they would say to one another, write a book of remembrance. And I believe it's just one of those core tenets in our lives that if we don't write it down, we're gonna forget. And what I don't want to do is forget what God has done in my life. I want to remember how He's carried me through. I want to do that because one of these days next year, I'll be going through something. And my book of remembrance has made me stronger and stronger and stronger as I go through them. Now I don't panic. I used to, when I was young, I was full of anxiety, full of fear. I read that I wasn't given a spirit of fear, but power and love and a sound mind. But anxiousness and fear overtook me. I was anxious for everything. And then as I began writing down what God was doing in our lives and uh reading his word and reading the scripture that said that's not the spirit that he gave me, I began to get wiser. And I learned that if God doesn't want me to have that, then why am I taking it on? So now I write that book of remembrance year after year after year. Lee and I are in our 51st year of marriage. We've had a lot of Christmas seasons together. We have four children that are all grown now. We have grandchildren, we have great-grandchildren, and through it all, that book of remembrance keeps accumulating. And then when I go through a hard season, which we know we're going to because in the world we're going to have trouble. He said that. He overcame the world, but in the world we're going to have trouble. I have that to look back on. And those books of remembrance, when I look back on them, are really grounded in his word, because that's where I go. I mean, as soon as I don't know about you, but when I am worried or I am scared or something seems overwhelming, I run to his word. And when I open that living word, he shows me exactly what I need for that moment. And many times when I was writing my book of remembrance, I would write those scriptures down, and I found them taking root in my heart because they had experience behind them, they had joy or sorrow or laughter or something that rooted them and grounded them in my heart. And when they're in my heart, guess what? They come out of my mouth. And when they come out of my mouth, they're powerful to destroying the works of the enemy around me. And I want that for you. And so as I'm just spending time reflecting about this year, we started two years ago the website uh Ease Greenhouse. We built it. And then in April of that year in 2024, um, I met my social media friend who began working for me in May. Um, and then in June, I met this young lady that told me she had created a podcast about her tiny home. And in July, she came to work for me and we started this podcast because my grandson who built the website was the guru who got us into the podcast. And we have done more than 25 uh podcasts now that are live. Uh, we've recorded many more than that that you'll see coming up in the new year. So this year has been quite amazing. We got we went from 2024 with just a dream, and then we went through 2025 and in June started recording podcasts, and we have over 25 live. Um, the reason that's important is because my heart is that if you're listening and you needed to hear someone tell their story to encourage you in your story, then we've done what we needed to do. It may just be one of you. Some of you may be, oh, listening to the story and thinking, this is a great story, but one of you might really say, Oh my gosh, that's what I needed to hear. I needed that story to help me hold on. And and I hope that you hold on. God is faithful, he is not a respecter of persons. He will do for you what he does for me, Denise, and what he does for Kristen, and what he does for Nancy, and what he does for Stephanie, and all of the many stories that have been told this year. Uh, God loves his daughters, he loves us, he loves his sons too. But since I don't talk to his sons, I'm talking to you. He loves you guys, he loves you with an everlasting love. He won't ever leave you or forsake you. So then why don't we feel him all the time? First, we need to look at ourselves and say, have we left him? Have we turned away from his love? Because he's always there, and all you have to do is just turn back and you'll find him. You'll find him right there, and he will help you. Um this year has shown, has had me stepping out in big steps of faith. Um, the the business, which is Ease Greenhouse, doesn't have any business on it right now. It will in the new year. Uh, there will be courses you can take if you want to learn more about God. There will be um workshops and seminars if you're trying to build a business based on God's principles. I'm really excited about that. Um, if you want to do adventures, I'm hopeful in the future that you'll be able to sign up to go on adventures with me. I love adventuring. And I, you know, God made this whole big world so that we could adventure in it, so that we could see how creative He is and how amazing He is. There are deserts and there are oceans and there are wooded valleys and big rich forests on the mountaintops, and there's rivers and streams, and oh my gosh, there's so much more. And I like to take girls on adventures. So in the future, you will find those out on the site, but not today. I am patiently waiting on my father's timing, and what he told me to do first is to record a hundred podcasts, so that's where my biggest focus is to record a hundred podcasts with a hundred women who have amazing stories about God in their life and how they've been used. And I want them to encourage you. So in my new year, 2026, I'm already praying and asking for vision because he tells us, he gives us visions and dreams, even in our old age. I'm asking for vision, I am asking for clarity, I'm asking to clearly hear his voice in these ears, to recognize that still quiet voice, to trust him in every season, to look for him and give him praise for all the many things that he's done in my life. I encourage you to do that. Think about your life, think about the blessings that have poured down from heaven on you, the job you have, the children you have, the husbands you have, the um friendships you have, the place that covers your head, your roof over your head, the food you eat, the songs you want to sing, all the modern conveniences that we have here in the U.S. You may not have those everywhere if you're listening to this, but uh all of those are blessings from God. He pours them out on us and we take them for granted. And so I'm just asking you to, as you stop and think about your 2026, think about how to be grateful to the Lord for all that he has done and give him praise in the new year. Give him praise, don't be afraid to lift your hands and praise his name because he's worth it, because he's given us everything, and don't hold back because you're worried about what somebody else thinks or that they'll judge you. Just don't be worried about that. You know, God said you have been set free, and whom he set free is free indeed. That means you can be holy and completely in 2026. In 2026, you can be holy, completely this person that God knit together in your mom's womb. You do not have to think about the people that would judge you, except to pray for them because they don't know any better. You don't have to think about feeling foolish because there's nothing that is foolish to the Lord, and praise is definitely not foolish to him. He loves it when we give him praise and honor for all that he pours out on us. So I pray for you right now. I just pray, Father, that you would open their eyes to your presence and that they would each feel the freedom that you've already given them to praise you and to love you and to follow your voice through every season. And I pray it for me, Father, that you'll continue to make me steadfast, following what you call me to be, being the person that you've called me to be in this earth. Um, help us realize that our time is really short, that we were sent on purpose, on mission, and that we're going to return to you. And I just trust that for you, girls. I trust that for you, that God's growing you, He's making you stronger, He is building you up in your inner man, He is giving you hope. Where you felt hopeless before, He is renewing your hope. And you know what it says about hope that when we have hope, it becomes faith when we persevere, and faith does not disappoint. So, there again, another prayer that I'm praying for you that you will have hope today, and that will turn to faith because you persevere, and then you will see that faith. You will see the evidence of what you've hoped for, you will see it, and it will make a difference in your life. Well, I probably have talked enough. I hope that this encourages you in the Christmas season and in the new year. I hope that you'll watch our website uh for new things that will be out there and you'll tell your friends about it because there's somebody that needs to hear the podcast, or take a class on loving God, learning how to love God with all your heart, or taking uh a time to retreat and just be with the Lord about your business, or take your management team and retreat and come up with a strategy to serve the Lord with your whole heart in your business and in your life and with your family and with your friendships and in your community. I love you guys so much, and I pray that every uh good word that comes from these podcasts will take root and grow in your own life, that you will believe God for all of it. And I pray it in Jesus' name. Thank you. I love you.
